Accomodations & Costs

We are looking forward to having harpists and harpers of all ages and levels, with lever or pedal harps. Sleepover campers will check-in at the Acorn Inn in Nellysford, VA on Sunday evening, July 30th and check-out Thursday Evening 8/3 or Friday morning 8/4. Commuter Campers are invited to join us on any day they prefer or for all four days.

The Acorn Inn is in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains (40 minutes from Charlottesville, VA), 3 miles from the town of Nellysford. We stay in a charming converted stable with a grand meeting and performance room, a bright and cozy living room and a large deck.

There are 10 private rooms with double beds, and three roll-away beds are available. Two bedrooms are available in the main house and a charming cottage across the road sleeps several but could be appealing to parents who want to come for a retreat of their own!  (These have a slightly higher price.)

Your harp will remain in the large gallery room where rehearsals and most workshops take place. You will never have to lug it around, up steps or take it outside . . . unless you choose to!

Continental breakfast is provided by our Innkeepers, Kathy & Martin Versluys. All other meals will be catered by Chef Victoria Dunham, to include healthy and tasty food from local farms, orchards and kitchens. For those who have special dietary needs, please let us know in plenty of time. You may use the kitchen if you have a tricky diet. Drinks and snacks will be available.

Plan to arrive Sunday late afternoon July 30th. Early arrival can be arranged with the Inn. Meals start with our pizza party on Sunday through continental breakfast on Friday.

• Tuition: for four day sessions + music: $350 • Room and board: $400

• Day Campers: $85/day includes tuition and lunch + $10/dinner

• Private Harp Lesson w/Sunita or other faculty:  $60

• Day Camper Ensemble Music requires $35 fee

• Opening night concert with Sunita Staneslow free to campers; public $10

There are just 10 rooms available at the Inn. Some can be doubles. Also, two rooms are available in the farmhouse. There is charming little cottage that sleeps 3. Several lovely AirB&B’s nearby for a slightly higher fee. Please check with us for availability. $100 deposit at sign-up. Balance due 30 days thereafter.

Please call or email Virginia for registration form.
